PayPal will automatically convert digital assets into fiat through the stablecoin PYUSD, with the seller receiving payment in dollars. <\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, the main advantage of the service is the reduction of cross-border transaction costs by up to 90% compared to traditional bank transfers and card payments. <\/p>\n<p>Until July 2026, the fee will be 0.99% per transfer. It will then increase to 1.5%, which is lower than the average credit card rate in the US. According to the Nilson Report, this rate was 1.57% in 2024. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We aim to remove barriers for businesses of any size. Now a shop in Oklahoma City can easily accept a cryptocurrency payment from a buyer in Guatemala \u2014 with minimal fees and instant access to funds,&#8221; noted PayPal CEO Alex Chriss. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pay with Crypto is expected to become available to American merchants in the coming weeks. First, PayPal must obtain approval from the <span data-descr=\"New York State Department of Financial Services\" class=\"old_tooltip\">NYDFS<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Back in September 2024, the payment giant <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/paypal-expands-cryptocurrency-services-to-business-accounts\">opened<\/a> the possibility for corporate clients in the US to buy, store, and sell cryptocurrencies directly from their business accounts.<\/p>\n<p>In April this year, PayPal <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/paypal-expands-cryptocurrency-services-to-business-accounts\">announced<\/a> plans to implement a rewards program for PYUSD holders in the US to promote its use.
