According to researchers at BitMEX Research.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Antminer S19 Pro vs Whatsminer M30S+<\/p>\n<p>We measure various performance metrics for two of the latest and most energy efficient Bitcoin mining products, MicroBT\u2019s Whatsminer M30S+ &#038; Bitmain\u2019s Antminer S19 Pro<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Whatsminer_MBT?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Whatsminer_MBT<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BITMAINtech?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BITMAINtech<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vEJdQx4k8P\">https:\/\/t.co\/vEJdQx4k8P<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/N2CtvZeNQT\">pic.twitter.com\/N2CtvZeNQT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 BitMEX Research (@BitMEXResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BitMEXResearch\/status\/1295338884281380871?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 17, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Over three days, equipment from both manufacturers was tested across a range of characteristics, including hash rate, energy efficiency, thermal performance, noise, and the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts found that the top Bitmain miner version boasts better energy efficiency \u2014 29.7 J\/TH versus 34.4 J\/TH for MicroBT&#8217;s leading model. Experts note that even the upgraded Whatsminer M30S++, which gained the extra plus in the name, trails the Antminer S19 Pro \u2014 31.0 J\/TH.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, enthusiasts seeking Bitmain&#8217;s product faced supply difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>BitMEX notes that the manufacturer&#8217;s site lists sold-out stock, while MicroBT does not face this problem.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, MicroBT miners are cheaper for buyers.<\/p>\n<p>BitMEX noted that they themselves experienced delays in obtaining the Antminer S19 Pro.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;MicroBT delivered the miners in a matter of days, while Bitmain took almost five weeks,&#8221; the researchers said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>BitMEX attributes the delay to <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitmain-delays-miner-shipments-amid-internal-company-dispute\">the ongoing power struggle<\/a> among the co-founders and concerns over supply of 7nm TSMC chips.<\/p>\n<p>Experts forecast continued fierce competition between the two manufacturers in the coming years. They give a slight edge to Bitmain due to its initial position and order book.<\/p>\n<p>This view is based on a survey of mining farm operators. Most still lean toward Bitmain, though disappointed with the supply situation.
