He also said that Tovstenko set up one of the investors in Bitsonar, who, according to him, was owed hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“These guys were heading to Odessa in two cars: the man who provided the money, with his wife, and two of his friends who were not involved in this story at all. They housed Tovstenko in a hotel at their expense, he ate oysters for $50. One day, while they were walking in the park, a police van pulled up, plainclothes officers got out, showed their IDs and asked, “Sasha, are you okay?” and placed him in the van. Fifteen minutes later the CORD unit arrived and laid the police officers and the investor with his friends face down. So for Sasha this was premeditated, organized and approved by someone. Most likely, he paid someone in the authorities. No matter the cost, $30–50 thousand is still less than paying back $450 thousand.”

According to Stadchenko’s wife, before the abduction her husband intended to file complaints about Tovstenko with the Ukrainian police and the American FBI, since Bitsonar attracted funds from US residents.

She added that a few hours before the abduction Tovstenko’s lawyer Evgeny Evsyukov contacted Stadchenko’s lawyer to settle the conflict before filing the complaints.

Read more about the Bitsonar pyramid at the link.

Экзит-скам Bitsonar: как бывший украинский чиновник построил пирамиду, выдавая ее за инвестфонд

Subscribe to ForkLog news on Telegram: ForkLog Feed — the full news feed, ForkLog — the most important news and polls.

On Wednesday, August 26, in Kyiv, unknown abductors kidnapped former Bitsonar pyramid employee Yaroslav Stadchenko (also known as Yan Novak).
