The Wasabi Wallet team announced the development of a 2.0 version focused on Bitcoin wallet anonymity. It is designed to simplify confidential transactions by automating mixing using CoinJoin technology.<\/p>\n

According to the developers, the option to use CoinJoin independently may remain for experienced users.<\/p>\n
The new WabiSabi protocol for mixing with a centralized coordinator will increase speed and reduce the cost of confidential transactions. It will also lay the groundwork for in-CoinJoin payments and the ability to combine with other technologies. Details were not disclosed.<\/p>\n
The Wasabi 2.0 user interface will change.<\/p>\n
The team believes the most realistic release window for the new version is nine to fourteen months.<\/p>\n
Earlier in November, a hacker who breached the KuCoin cryptocurrency exchange in September moved<\/a> part of the bitcoins through the Wasabi wallet.<\/p>\n
In July, Wasabi Wallet was used by attackers who managed to compromise numerous Twitter accounts.<\/p>\n
