IOHK has effectively supported the project for several years.<\/p>\n<p>Haskell is a standardized pure functional general-purpose programming language that integrates easily with other languages. The Ouroboros protocol, the backbone of the Cardano network, is written in Haskell. The Haskell developers also created the Plutus smart-contract language, which is also used in this blockchain.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;IOHK believes in the power of functional programming, open-source software, and open governance.
