User funds remain secure.

Thanks to open-source code, users will be able to reprogram the card for their own smart contracts and use cases, for example as a payment card or as an access card.

“The card can be used as a safe for transferring funds or as a replenishable card. The fact that it operates with a formally verified multisig contract gives it additional non-custodial storage capabilities for large sums. It can be used for working with any assets of the Free TON network,” commented Dmitry Goroshhevsky, TON Labs’ chief technology officer.

The card’s release is planned for December 2020. Already now the TON Surf app has a waitlist sign-up. To interact with the card, the app must be updated to version 4.0.7.

TON Surf is one of the user interfaces for working with the TON blockchain and is part of the TON OS operating system.

In June, TON Surf began supporting the Free TON mainnet.

Subscribe to ForkLog news on Telegram: ForkLog Feed — the full feed, ForkLog — the most important news and polls.

Developers of the Free TON blockchain project, based on the Telegram Open Network protocol, announced the release of smart cards with a hardware-wallet feature.

[3
1229,1777,961
post-31685","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-and-analysis","tag-banks-and-fintech","tag-everscale","tag-hardware-wallets
["GET
