However, authorities should not constrain their potential with excessive regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf we started to apply technology that expands freedom under the weight of regulation, we would lose much of the potential of this new technology,\u201d Peirce said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, SEC Commissioner <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-commissioner-hester-peirce-crypto-industries-need-progressive-rules\">doubted the ability<\/a> of the existing regulatory framework to adapt to cryptocurrencies.
