This was reported by the agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eldiario.es\/canariasahora\/tribunales\/estafa-informatica-justicia-arbistar-carlos-aranguez-santiago-fuentes_1_6499202.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">elDiario.es<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In October, the Arbistar 2.0 CEO was detained <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/spanish-police-arrest-ceo-of-arbistar-cryptocurrency-project-arbistar-2-0\">on charges of fraud and money laundering<\/a>. The court sentenced him to a suspended sentence, banned him from leaving Spain and seized his passport.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer for Arbistar 2.0 users argued that the punishment did not fit the gravity of the crime. According to him, the plaintiffs lost $4.8 million, and the country \u201chas faced the largest computer fraud\u201d in its history.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe demand pre-trial detention for Santiago Fuentes, to recover the savings [\u2026] It is unacceptable for the courts not to respond to such a fraud,\u201d said Aranguez.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In September, Arbistar 2.0 halted its trading bot Community Bot, allegedly due to an error, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/spanish-crypto-project-arbistar-suspected-of-exit-scam\">blocking the accounts of 32,000 clients<\/a>.
