Without this provision, 12 million Americans could be left without means of subsistence after Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic restrictions, more than 20 million Americans <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/pdf\/empsit.pdf\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener noreferrer\\\">lost their jobs<\/a>, and only about half of them had left the labor force by today.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats and some Republicans are pressing for larger sums of \u201chelicopter money\u201d and for extending unemployment benefit programs, the receipt of which has become impossible once the statutory deadlines have expired. They expect to revisit the issue after Joe Biden&#8217;s January inauguration.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cStarting right after the New Year, Congress will begin work on supporting our plan to counter COVID-19 \u2014 for struggling families, investments in jobs and a revival of the economy. We will not waste time,\u201d said the president-elect.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As reported, on March 27 the U.S. Senate approved the previous, larger anti-crisis package to support the economy amid the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, totaling $2.2 trillion. In the crypto community, one can expect new references to the popular meme <a href=\\\"https:\/\/brrr.money\/\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener noreferrer\\\">\u00abMoney printer go BRRR\u00bb<\/a>. It hints at the Fed&#8217;s printing press working at full tilt during the corona crisis. The meme <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/grayscale-investments-launches-tv-advertising-for-crypto-trusts\">laid<\/a> the basis for Grayscale Investments&#8217; advertising campaign launched in August.<\/p>\n<p>As discussions of the new stimulus package were under way, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-questions-bitcoins-use-in-large-transactions\">reached out<\/a> to MicroStrategy head Michael Saylor with a question about how he managed to move a large portion of his balance into bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>In August, MicroStrategy became the first Nasdaq-listed company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-becomes-the-first-nasdaq-listed-company-to-invest-part-of-its-capital-in-bitcoin\">to convert<\/a> a portion of its capital into bitcoin. The company bought 21,454 BTC \u2014 about $250 million at the time.
