In the United States the company operates through its 2019-launched subsidiary, B2C2 USA.<\/p>\n<p>The platform halted XRP trading for U.S. residents last Thursday, after previously requiring voice confirmation when closing positions.<\/p>\n<p>Trading for other countries remains available, but they must first secure short positions.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"l5GITPMqGf\">\n<p>SBI Holdings bought a $30 million stake in the cryptocurrency OTC platform B2C2<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cSBI Holdings bought a $30 million stake in the cryptocurrency OTC platform B2C2\u201d \u2014 ForkLog\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/news\/sbi-holdings-kupil-30-mln-dolyu-v-kriptovalyutnoj-otc-platforme-b2c2\/embed#?secret=fVoiTmUBn6#?secret=l5GITPMqGf\" data-secret=\"l5GITPMqGf\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week XRP trading support was halted by the crypto bank <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/galaxy-digital-halts-support-for-ripple-token-amid-sec-lawsuit\">Galaxy Digital<\/a> and Chicago-based Jump Trading. The exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitstamp-halts-xrp-trading-for-us-customers-as-token-price-resumes-decline\">Bitstamp<\/a> also decided to bar American users from trading the token.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, on December 23, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-files-suit-against-ripple\">filed a lawsuit against Ripple<\/a>, its CEO Brad Garlinghouse and co-founder Chris Larsen. The agency says that over seven years the company sold unregistered securities in the form of tokens and raised $1.3 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the proceedings, Garlinghouse noted that the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brad-garlinghouse-sec-suit-against-ripple-a-dangerous-precedent-for-the-crypto-industry\">could spell trouble<\/a> for other cryptocurrency companies and digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of publication XRP was trading around $0.294, having fallen 5.4% in the last 24 hours.
