However, the new site remains the sole channel of communication with customers for now.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We are strictly limited in publishing news after the investigation began. The only thing we can say right now is that a carefully planned attack on our service was carried out from various sides. We temporarily lost control over our servers and other channels,&#8221; the statement says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Livecoin did not specify an exact date for the platform&#8217;s resumption.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange is offering bounties for information about the attack.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;If you have any useful information that could help recover transferred funds, locate the breach or the attacker, please contact us at bounty@livecoin.news. The bounty amount is determined on a case-by-case basis,&#8221; added Livecoin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, on December 24, the price of Bitcoin on the Livecoin exchange surged to several hundred thousand dollars, and withdrawals from the platform became unavailable.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, director Svetlana Geller deleted her Telegram account. Users speculated that the platform&#8217;s founders <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-price-on-livecoin-exchange-surges-to-220000-platform-suspected-of-exit-scam\">carried out an exit scam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Soon a message appeared on the homepage stating that the exchange had been subjected to a &#8220;carefully planned attack,&#8221; and that the administration had completely lost control over the servers, backend and nodes.<\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary estimates, unknown actors stole 106 BTC, 361 ETH and 236 BCH.<\/p>\n<p>Later, unknown actors left a message on the site of the recently hacked Livecoin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hackers-demand-bitcoins-from-hacked-livecoin-exchange\">with a bitcoin ransom demand<\/a>. That message has since been updated with the phrase: &#8220;Oops!
