The suspects are believed to have stolen over $100m in cryptocurrencies by gaining access to and taking control of apps and changing passwords. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GxSLWOFF8u\">https:\/\/t.co\/GxSLWOFF8u<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Europol (@Europol) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Europol\/status\/1359435328084443138?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to Europol, two suspects were detained in Malta and Belgium, and later eight more members of the hacker group were arrested.<\/p>\n<p>During 2020, hackers targeted &#8220;thousands of victims, including well-known bloggers, sports stars, musicians and their families.&#8221; Their main targets were residents of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The hackers gained access to users&#8217; phones, enabling them to steal funds and personal data.
