{"id":39640,"date":"2021-03-26T14:10:24","date_gmt":"2021-03-26T12:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=39640"},"modified":"2025-08-30T10:40:34","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T07:40:34","slug":"bank-of-japan-forms-coordination-committee-to-study-cbdc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/bank-of-japan-forms-coordination-committee-to-study-cbdc\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank of Japan forms coordination committee to study CBDC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dedicated committee established by the Bank of Japan will coordinate CBDC experiments in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boj.or.jp\/en\/announcements\/release_2021\/rel210326a.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>, in the first phase of practical research the central bank will test the technical feasibility of the core functions and components required for a CBDC.<\/p>\n<p>As previously <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bank-of-japan-to-begin-cbdc-experiments\">confirmed<\/a> by Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda, the proof of concept (PoC) will be conducted in the new financial year, which begins on 1 April.<\/p>\n<p>The central bank will involve private-sector representatives and government bodies in the research.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CBDC Collaboration and Coordination Committee\u201d will allocate roles for the experiment among them.
