He will help the company prepare for a <span data-descr=\"the process of going public in which no new shares are sold, but existing shareholders' shares\" class=\"old_tooltip\">direct listing<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-hires-former-sec-official-to-engage-with-investors\">invited<\/a> Brett Redfearn, the former director of the SEC&#8217;s Division of Trading and Markets, to serve as vice president of products and capital markets.<\/p>\n<p>On February 25, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-approves-coinbases-direct-listing-application\">approved Coinbase&#8217;s application<\/a> for a direct listing.
