The restrictions apply to clients of the HSBC InvestDirect platform, <a href=\"http:\/\/theblockcrypto.com\/post\/101448\/hsbc-microstrategy-shares-ban-bitcoin-concerns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> The Block<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a Twitter user<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hsbc-clients-report-ban-on-microstrategy-stock-purchases\"> reported<\/a> that the bank notified him of a change in policy regarding &#8220;virtual currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum and other digital assets&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>An HSBC spokesperson told the publication that the message was sent to clients in Canada, but did not specify all jurisdictions affected by the restrictions. According to him, the financial conglomerate &#8216;has no desire to invest directly in virtual currencies&#8217; and limited interest in financial products related to such assets.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcointreasuries.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> Bitcoin Treasuries<\/a>, MicroStrategy owns 91,579 BTC worth $5.74 billion.
