From the crypto industry, Coinbase and Digital Currency Group (DCG) were included for strengthening trust and popularising digital assets, respectively.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Introducing TIME\u2019s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TIME100Companies?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TIME100Companies<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XJIBbqD1fd\">https:\/\/t.co\/XJIBbqD1fd<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KI5a0CoBBB\">pic.twitter.com\/KI5a0CoBBB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TIME (@TIME) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TIME\/status\/1387000771456258048?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 27, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Coinbase was placed in the &#8216;Titans&#8217; section, which also includes PayPal, Amazon, Google, Facebook, Disney, Alibaba, Microsoft, Samsung and others.<\/p>\n<p>DCG was placed in the &#8216;Disruptors&#8217; section alongside Tesla, SpaceX, Robinhood, Huawei, Clubhouse and others.<\/p>\n<p>MasterCard was also included in the list for its pledge of direct support for cryptocurrencies in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In late 2019 TIME included Coinbase chief Brian Armstrong in the &#8216;Rising Stars&#8217; list.
