This view was expressed by Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin in an interview with <a href=\\\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/70439\/the-four-horses-of-crypto-adoption-are-galloping-ethereum-co-founder-joe-lubin\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noreferrer noopener\\\">Decrypt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He cited Geoffrey Moore&#8217;s Crossing the Chasm theory of how breakthrough technologies come to market. The author argues that there is a gap between early adopters (enthusiasts and visionaries) and the mass market (pragmatists) that an innovative product must &#8216;leap over&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cIn essence, our technology, our ecosystem \u2014 call it the four horses of paradigm shift \u2014 are currently leaping across the chasm,\u201d Lubin said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the first &#8216;horse&#8217; consisted of cipher researchers, cryptographers, protocol developers and monetary theorists.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Then exchange operators, traders and wallet providers entered the fray.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The third major trend was advanced by people turning to decentralised finance.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Finally, NFTs are bringing cryptocurrency into popular culture, Lubin added.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Lubin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nft-social-network-niftys-secures-investment-from-mark-cuban-and-joseph-lubin\">invested<\/a> in NFT social network Nifty\u2019s in a pre-seed funding round.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In September 2020, ConsenSys <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/joseph-lubin-announces-creation-of-consensys-mesh-to-advance-web-3-0-and-defi\">created<\/a> a new company, Mesh, focused on developing projects in DeFi and Web 3.0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four main trends are paving the path for broad adoption of the digital assets ecosystem \u2014 blockchain, cryptocurrencies, DeFi and NFTs.
