{"id":42701,"date":"2021-05-18T15:31:31","date_gmt":"2021-05-18T12:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=42701"},"modified":"2025-08-31T00:23:47","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T21:23:47","slug":"onecoin-founder-ignored-a-4-billion-fraud-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/onecoin-founder-ignored-a-4-billion-fraud-lawsuit\/","title":{"rendered":"OneCoin founder ignored a $4 billion fraud lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ruja Ignatova, founder of the OneCoin pyramid scheme, did not respond to the lawsuit related to the alleged $4 billion fraud, according to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.law360.com\/newyork\/articles\/1385433\/onecoin-cryptoqueen-financier-in-default-in-4b-fraud-suit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> Law360<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Ignatova, her company OneCoin, and banker Gilbert Arment \u201cdid not provide a response or otherwise did not respond to the suit,\u201d according to the filings.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the court warned plaintiffs Kristin Grablis and Donald Bardo that the case could be delayed if they do not provide information about attempts to serve the defendants.<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest data, the papers were served on Ignatova, who has been a fugitive since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2019, Ignatova&#8217;s brother Konstantin was detained at Los Angeles airport. He <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/onecoin-founders-brother-to-testify-against-sister\">agreed to testify<\/a> against his sister.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020,<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/lawyer-for-onecoin-scammer-disbarred\"> the court revoked the license<\/a> of OneCoin lawyer Mark Scott.
