This is stated in the regulator\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riksbank.se\/en-gb\/press-and-published\/notices-and-press-releases\/notices\/2021\/riksbank-begins-cooperation-with-external-participants-in-e-krona-pilot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The experiment, involving a non-participating actor, will assess integration between existing systems and the technical platform for the CBDC.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThus, the pilot project of the e-krona moves from simple modelling to collaboration with external participants in a test environment,\u201d the Riksbank said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The plans to issue a national digital currency were first announced in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019 the central bank signed a partnership agreement with consulting firm Accenture.
