{"id":43462,"date":"2021-05-31T13:48:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-31T10:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=43462"},"modified":"2025-08-31T03:47:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T00:47:07","slug":"dbs-bank-issues-digital-notes-worth-11-3-million-in-first-sto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/dbs-bank-issues-digital-notes-worth-11-3-million-in-first-sto\/","title":{"rendered":"DBS Bank issues digital notes worth $11.3 million in first STO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Singapore&#8217;s largest bank DBS Bank has placed on its own DBS Digital Exchange digital notes worth S$15 million ($11.3 million) with a six-month maturity and a coupon rate of 0.6% per year. <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/dbs-digital-bond-security-token-offering\\\">CoinDesk<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>This is the first<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-security-tokens-and-security-token-offerings-stos\"> <\/a>issuance <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-security-tokens-and-security-token-offerings-stos\">security tokens<\/a> (STO) on the platform. The notional value of the instrument is ten times smaller than its traditional counterpart \u2013 S$10,000 ($7,600).<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Institutional and accredited clients of the platform will enable secondary trading of the digital notes.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>DBS said that the DBS Digital Exchange infrastructure is ready for new issuances and listings of security tokens. They offer the same legal guarantees and protections as traditional debt securities.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Eng-Kwok Seat Moey, head of DBS&#8217;s capital markets group, predicted that tokenisation will become a widespread practice in corporate fundraising.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In the first quarter of 2021, trading on the DBS Digital Exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/singapores-largest-bank-reveals-results-of-its-own-bitcoin-exchange\">grew<\/a> by more than tenfold.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In May, DBS Bank <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/singapores-largest-bank-launches-cryptocurrency-based-trusts\">added<\/a> investment trusts based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and XRP to its product lineup.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Follow ForkLog news on <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ForkLog\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"nofollow noopener\\\">Twitter<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Singapore&#8217;s largest bank DBS Bank has placed on its DBS Digital Exchange digital notes worth S$15 million ($11.3 million) with a six-month maturity and a coupon rate of 0.6% per year.
