Reports from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/crypto-startup-solana-raises-314-million-to-develop-faster-blockchain-11623240001\">WSJ<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblockcrypto.com\/post\/107749\/solana-labs-raises-314-million-funding-a16z-polychain-capital\">The Block<\/a> and other outlets.<\/p>\n<p>The round was led by venture firms Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Polychain Capital, with participation from Alameda Research, CMS Holdings, CoinShares, Jump Trading, Multicoin Capital, Sino Global Capital and others.<\/p>\n<p>The exact amount invested was $314,159,265 \u2014 Pi multiplied by 100 million.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used to create a venture arm to invest in its own ecosystem and to launch a studio to develop projects on Solana.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We are convinced that scalability and throughput of the blockchain are already solved problems. The next phase is to attract a billion users,&#8221; said Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As of writing, the SOL token ranks 11th on <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/solana\/\">CoinMarketCap<\/a> with a market capitalization of $11.7 billion.
