The information is stated in the organisation&#8217;s <a href=\\\"https:\/\/newsroom.statestreet.com\/press-releases\/press-release-details\/2021\/State-Street-Launches-New-Division-Dedicated-to-Digital-Finance\/default.aspx\\\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<!--more-->\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cThe financial industry is being transformed into a digital economy, and we view digital assets as one of the most significant forces shaping our industry over the next five years,\u201d said Ron O\u2019Hanley, chairman of State Street Corporation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The State Street Digital division is focused on cryptocurrencies, <span data-descr=\\\"central bank digital currencies\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">CBDC<\/span>, blockchain technology and asset tokenisation. It will include the bank&#8217;s GlobalLink platform.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>State Street was among the first participants in the banking consortium R3 in 2015.
