During a campaign event in New York, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brock-pierce-served-with-securities-fraud-papers-at-campaign-rally\">he received documents related to a securities-fraud case<\/a> with securities.<\/p>\n<p>On June 9, 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-passes-bill-recognizing-bitcoin-as-legal-tender\">El Salvador&#8217;s authorities recognised the first cryptocurrency<\/a> as an official means of payment in the country, on a par with the US dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Local remittance services were cool to Bitcoin support \u2014 only a small number <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/remittance-services-in-el-salvador-take-a-cautious-stance-on-bitcoin-support\">integrated<\/a> the support for the digital gold.<\/p>\n<p>According to JPMorgan analysts, the authorities&#8217; decision regarding Bitcoin could <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/jpmorgan-analysts-question-bitcoins-benefits-for-el-salvadors-economy\">threaten relations with <span data-descr=\"International Monetary Fund\" class=\"old_tooltip\">IMF<\/span><\/a>, on which the country&#8217;s economy depends.<\/p>\n<p>ForkLog&#8217;s experts <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/experts-weigh-bitcoins-impact-on-el-salvadors-economy-it-cannot-get-worse\">have come to the view<\/a> that adopting cryptocurrency could equally stimulate investment inflows into the country as well as capital outflows.<\/p>\n<p>The Central American Bank for Economic Integration said it would <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/cabei-to-back-el-salvadors-bitcoin-push\">support El Salvador<\/a> in implementing Bitcoin and would create a technical group for this.<\/p>\n<p>The World Bank <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/world-bank-declines-to-assist-el-salvador-with-bitcoin-rollout\">refused<\/a> to help the country, citing environmental and transparency concerns.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran of the Bitcoin industry and billionaire Brock Pierce said he led the &#8220;official delegation of Bitcoin ambassadors&#8221; to El Salvador.
