Portugal ranked seventh among 26 countries on this metric.<\/p>\n<p>The CNSF survey drew 977 respondents. Digital assets proved to be the least-known financial instrument \u2014 only 34.7% of respondents had heard of them. The most widely known were demand and term deposits, known by 99.3% and 93.5% of respondents, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2019, trading in cryptocurrencies and payments using digital assets have been exempt from value-added tax.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2021, the Bank of Portugal issued <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/portugal-grants-first-licenses-to-two-bitcoin-exchanges\">licences for virtual asset service providers<\/a> to two bitcoin exchanges \u2014 Criptoloja and Mind the Coin.<\/p>\n<p>Follow ForkLog news on <a href=\\\"https:\/\/vk.com\/forklogcom\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"nofollow noopener\\\">VK<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2020, only 1% of Portugal&#8217;s residents invested in cryptocurrencies or ICOs.
