The attackers demanded payment of 0.5 BTC (over $17,600 at the time of writing). This was reported by the site&#8217;s operator, Cobra.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\"><p>\\n<\/p>\n<p dir=\\\"ltr\\\" lang=\\\"en\\\"><a href=\\\"https:\/\/t.co\/OsFgRFRRZb\\\">https:\/\/t.co\/OsFgRFRRZb<\/a> getting hit with an absolutely massive DDoS attack and a ransom demand to send Bitcoin or they\u2019ll continue.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve been this offended in a while. I don\u2019t know how long we will be offline,&#8221; Cobra said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>A DDoS attack is a coordinated attempt to overwhelm a website with useless traffic and take it offline.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>At the time of publication, the site was back online.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I didn\u2019t expect to be insulted so quickly.
