{"id":4638,"date":"2018-04-17T09:01:18","date_gmt":"2018-04-17T06:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.media\/?p=4638"},"modified":"2018-04-18T09:23:57","modified_gmt":"2018-04-18T06:23:57","slug":"coinbase-buys-earn-com-names-balaji-srinivasan-its-first-cto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/coinbase-buys-earn-com-names-balaji-srinivasan-its-first-cto\/","title":{"rendered":"Coinbase Buys Earn.com, Names Balaji Srinivasan It\u2019s First CTO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase said on Monday that it has acquired Earn.com, makers of a paid email product that lets people earn bitcoin for replying to emails or completing surveys.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Earn.com formerly operated as a bitcoin mining company under the name 21.co Last year it rebranded itself as a social network and is now regarded as one of the few practical blockchain applications to gain meaningful traction.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the deal, Earn.com co-founder and CEO Balaji Srinivasan will join Coinbase as its first ever chief technology officer. Srinivasan will also take on an evangelist role for Coinbase and cryptocurrency at large, &#8220;educating the world and recruiting crypto-first talent to the company,&#8221; Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.coinbase.com\/welcome-balaji-srinivasan-coinbases-new-chief-technology-officer-e746503d7ab6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Srinivasan <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@balajis\/the-turnaround-2d145589d814\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> ithat Earn.com is a cash-flow positive business with a multimillion dollar revenue run rate and &#8220;hundreds of thousands&#8221; of users.
