The founder and chief executive of Interactive Brokers, Thomas Peterffy, in comments to CNBC<\/a> said that he ‘has invested a little money’ in digital assets.<\/p>\n

“Although this market is likely to prove unviable, there is a small probability that it will spawn a dominant currency, so one must be prepared for a risky game,” the billionaire said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He did not specify the names of the digital assets in his investment portfolio.<\/p>\n

In late summer 2021, Interactive Brokers will launch cryptocurrency trading<\/a>. Peterffy noted that a number of the company\u2019s clients had shown interest in the new opportunity, and he fully understands them.<\/p>\n

In 2017, the billionaire warned of the ‘risks to capital markets’ posed by Bitcoin futures.<\/p>\n
