The Ukrainian express-delivery company Nova Poshta, which provides express services, lost some customer parcels in a fire. One of the affected customers had cryptocurrency mining equipment worth $4,000 burned.<\/p>\n

According to the client, on August 1 he sent an ASIC miner from Zaporizhzhia to Kyiv, but the parcel never reached the recipient. In the waybill he listed the minimum declared value of 200 hryvnias (about $7.50), as such problems had never occurred before. The actual price of the equipment, according to attached screenshots from the online store, is $4,000.<\/p>\n

“The parcel did not reach the recipient. I contacted the hotline. At first I was told that the parcel had disappeared, and after a while they said that the vehicle had burned,” the client wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Nova Poshta explained that the fire occurred in the delivery truck used by the company. They offered to reimburse 100% of the amount declared in the invoice, i.e., 200 hryvnias, and 91 hryvnias of carriage charges.<\/p>\n

The client filed a complaint demanding damages of 110,000 hryvnias (about $4,110). He added that, in such situations, the company does still pay the full amount, but selectively. Nova Poshta forwarded the complaint to the head of the responsible department.<\/p>\n

Nova Poshta and the affected user did not respond to ForkLog\u2019s request.<\/p>\n

Earlier, a resident of Kemerovo lost over 700,000 rubles<\/a> in an attempt to buy mining equipment.<\/p>\n
