He asked the company to distribute these funds among the victims.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the hacker described what happened as &#8220;one of the craziest adventures of his life&#8221; and signed off as &#8220;chief security adviser.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hackers-stole-611-million-from-the-poly-network-cross-chain-protocol\">In August, Poly Network suffered the largest-ever attack on the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and Polygon blockchains<\/a>. The total damage amounted to $611 million across various cryptocurrencies. Some of the stolen funds in USDT were blocked.<\/p>\n<p>On August 11 the hacker stated <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hacker-who-stole-611-million-from-poly-network-begins-returning-funds\">his intent to return the funds<\/a>. He transferred to the project team <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/poly-network-hacker-returns-all-stolen-funds-except-usdt\">all stolen assets except $33 million in USDT<\/a>, which Tether froze after the attack.
