This will enable smart contracts on the network and for the first time unlock a wide range of new use cases for decentralized applications (dapps),\u201d the developers wrote in a blog.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>They warned that this is \u201conly the beginning of the journey.\u201d According to them, some early dapps may prove problematic, and some \u2014 unsafe.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe also can expect that attackers will try to profit from hacks, exploits and the like,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>IOHK noted that this upgrade carries high expectations, but, to some extent, unfounded.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCardano watchers may expect that immediately after the upgrade a complex ecosystem of consumer-ready dapps will appear.
