Doug Liman, director of “The Bourne Identity” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” is set to work on the film “Killing Satoshi,” which explores the conspiracy surrounding the creator of Bitcoin. This was reported by Variety<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Casey Affleck and Pete Davidson will star in the leading roles. Details about their characters remain under wraps. <\/p>\n

“I love David and Goliath stories. ‘Killing Satoshi’ tells how unlikely anti-heroes battle the most powerful people on the planet in an epic struggle that touches the very essence of money and who controls it,” said the director.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Liman noted that this is “not just a film about Bitcoin,” and it aims to explain the essence of the first cryptocurrency. <\/p>\n

The creators emphasized that the film will resemble “The Social Network” about Facebook. The thriller about a global conspiracy will unveil the story of cryptocurrency’s emergence in the classic style of Hollywood blockbusters.<\/p>\n

The film “weaves together political intrigue, high-tech espionage, and a race against time, as forces worldwide, including governments, Wall Street, and Silicon Valley, engage in a total struggle for control.”<\/p>\n

The British company Production Lens is working on “Killing Satoshi.”<\/p>\n

In October 2024, HBO had already released<\/a> a documentary on Satoshi Nakamoto titled Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery. The film named programmer Peter Todd as the creator of Bitcoin. He denied the claim and reported a threat<\/a> to his personal safety following the release. <\/p>\n
