In a Sputnik Radio broadcast <a href=\"https:\/\/sputnik-abkhazia.ru\/radio\/20210921\/1033246884\/-Gaguliya-o-borbe-s-mayningom-i-snizhenii-potrebleniya-elektroenergii-protsess-beskonechnyy-.html\">said<\/a> Akhra Gaguliya, head of the Gudauta branch of Chernomorenergo.<\/p>\n<p>For a comprehensive approach to solving the problem, he proposed seizing illegally installed transformers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI compiled a list of illegally installed transformers and handed it to the government. The Prime Minister backed the initiative, and perhaps this is the quickest and most fundamental way to change the consumption situation. Now we will work out how to seize them and where to install them,\u201d said Gaguliya.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, Chernomorenergo will continue joint raid operations with law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe fight against connecting mining equipment is an endless process,\u201d added the head of the branch.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, Abkhazia had <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/abkhazia-to-intensify-crackdown-on-miners-and-seize-their-equipment\">a ban on mining and the import of equipment<\/a> in place until 31 March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of March, the local parliament introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/abkhazia-approves-fines-and-criminal-liability-for-illegal-mining\">fines and criminal liability<\/a> for illegal electricity consumption for cryptocurrency mining.<\/p>\n<p>The country has been conducting large-scale raids to identify illegal miners.
