This was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/sputnik-abkhazia.ru\/radio\/20210924\/1033272014\/Maksimov-o-neeffektivnosti-borby-s-mayningom-nizkaya-distsiplina-i-slozhnost-kontrolya.html?utm_source=yxnews&#038;utm_medium=desktop&#038;utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fyandex.ru%2Fnews%2Fsearch%3Ftext%3D\">Sputnik<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, large mining farms in Abkhazia are practically gone, but residents still own around 30,000 devices.<\/p>\n<p>In Abkhazia, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hundreds-of-mining-rigs-shut-down-in-abkhazia-raids\">raids<\/a> take place regularly to identify and disconnect equipment used for cryptocurrency mining. As a result, in July residents of several villages organized <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/in-abkhazia-a-local-protest-flares-over-seized-bitcoin-miners\">a protest action<\/a>, but the raids <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/82-asic-miners-seized-in-abkhazias-villages\">continued<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The head of one of the branches of \u201cChernomornego\u201d Akhra Gaguliya said that searching and confiscating equipment does not solve the problem of illegal mining, and proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/abkhazia-proposes-seizing-transformers-to-curb-mining\">to seize illegally installed transformers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/abkhazia-bans-cryptocurrency-mining-until-1-june-2021\">introduced a ban on mining<\/a> due to electricity shortages in Abkhazia.
