Market strategist Marion Labour of the financial conglomerate <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.db.com\/what-next\/digital-disruption\/dossier-payments\/i-could-potentially-see-bitcoin-to-become-the-21st-century-gold\\\">Deutsche Bank<\/a> expressed this view.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cPeople have always sought assets that are not controlled by governments. Gold has played that role for centuries,\u201d Labour explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to her, about two-thirds of Bitcoin buyers use it for investment and speculation, rather than as a means of payment or exchange.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that a few large purchases or sales on the crypto market could influence the balance of supply and demand.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cBitcoin is too volatile to be considered a reliable store of value,\u201d Labour emphasised.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The strategist also identified the lack of regulation as the main issue for cryptocurrencies. Another drawback of digital assets, in her view, is the environmental threat. However Labour believes the situation will improve in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>In March, Deutsche Bank analysts said that <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/deutsche-bank-bitcoin-has-become-too-important-to-ignore\">Bitcoin will continue to rise<\/a> as it attracts new major investors.
