On 25 November, Switzerland’s national postal operator will release<\/a> a collection of 175,000 digital stamps across 13 designs.<\/p>\n

They resemble any ordinary stamp \u2014 self-adhesive, bearing an image of Matterhorn<\/a> and the Moon on a blue background, priced at 8.90 francs. But each copy provides access to the digital version stored on the blockchain via a QR code.<\/p>\n

“The token will be launched on the Polygon network,”<\/em> Cointelegraph reported, citing representatives of the operator.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The crypto stamp aims to bridge the gap between the physical world and the digital asset universe, according to the press release.<\/p>\n

NFT<\/a> can be collected, traded and exchanged on marketplaces similar to OpenSea.<\/p>\n

The crypto stamp will offer an NFT-like user experience.<\/p>\n

“There will be 65,000 copies of the most common digital design, but only 50 of the rarest. Thanks to crypto stamps, philatelists will gain a digital experience,”<\/em> the press release states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Earlier in May, Austria’s postal service announced<\/a> the release of Crypto Stamp 3.0 as NFTs. The first NFT-based stamps using this technology appeared as early as 2019.<\/p>\n
