The platform&#8217;s main competitor, Epic Games Store, stated in a comment to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/10\/15\/22729050\/epic-game-store-open-to-blockchain-cryptocurrency-nft-games\\\">The Verge<\/a> that it is \\&#8221;open to games with support for cryptocurrency and blockchain-based assets\\&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The company is also prepared to operate in the NFT space with \\&#8221;some caveats\\&#8221;. Such games would have to comply with financial laws, carry age ratings, and use their own payment systems rather than the platform&#8217;s built-in payment service.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said the platform was not interested in NFTs. On October 16 he spoke positively about \\&#8221;innovations in technology and finance\\&#8221; and noted the benefits of blockchain.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\">\n<p lang=\\\"en\\\" dir=\\\"ltr\\\">As a technology, the blockchain is just a distributed transactional database with a decentralized business model that incentivize investment in hardware to expand the database\u2019s capacity.
