In June, the daily transaction count (TPD) for Polygon peaked at 8 million. The Ethereum metric at that time stood at 1.2 million TPD.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/kClhRnT3lNomFa7hQIjNFTN3FyxxREk38NhP8UNA_O9rozazaZTQYau8gL-XCZnj--jIVk9Fgc5XMjJAjN-k-G_CQUIOPieTuc5OrYSVtAoTpB7jq6Hk0S2cXBgO2vggZVe7bPU-=s1600\" alt=\"Report: bot-spam attack on the Polygon network yielding $6,900 daily\"\/><figcaption>Data: Flipside Crypto.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The attacker filled each block with &#8220;meaningless transactions&#8221;; spam cost him roughly $1,000 per day. Network load reached up to 90%.<\/p>\n<p>Flipside Crypto analysts found that about 30% of the TPD came from two contracts. Analysts identified them as arbitrage bots that conducted 2,000\u20134,000 trades daily on various DEXs.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of arbitrage is to profit from price differences across platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The contracts themselves drew roughly 2 million incoming transactions per day.
