The funds will go to expanding the lobbying group&#8217;s capabilities as the US Congress considers laws directly affecting the regulation of the cryptocurrency industry.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">1\/ Winning big battles in DC requires the right team &#038; the right level of investment. <\/p>\n<p>Crypto has a deep talent bench + now we\u2019re raising $ to play the game properly.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re excited to announce that we&#8217;ve raised $4M in funding from members <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/krakenfx?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@krakenfx<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DCGco?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@DCGco<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Filecoin?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Filecoin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\ude80<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Blockchain Association (@BlockchainAssn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BlockchainAssn\/status\/1461422061608443910?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 18, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Kraken cryptocurrency exchange and Digital Currency Group each contributed $1 million, while the Filecoin Foundation contributed twice as much. The latter pledged to provide a further $2 million if Blockchain Association succeeds in attracting external funding at a similar level.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe want to move from reacting to proactively advancing the industry&#8217;s interests. This must be a continuous campaign. It is a constant presence and informing. We have a strong chance of achieving our goals. We have pieces on the chessboard,\u201d Kristin Smith, head of the association, told CoinDesk.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The funds will be used to magnify efforts to educate policymakers and lawmakers about the benefits and potential of digital assets.
