In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/11\/23\/stripe-very-happy-staying-private-co-founder-john-collison-says.html\">CNBC<\/a>, he noted that there are many solutions in the market that have attracted his attention.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThere have recently been many developments aimed at making cryptocurrencies better. In particular, to make them scalable and usable as a means of payment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Collison noted that he has taken note of a number of innovative projects such as the Solana blockchain and the Bitcoin Lightning Network for micropayments.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, Stripe allowed its customers to make Bitcoin payments, but dropped support for digital gold in early 2018 due to its volatility and long transaction confirmations.<\/p>\n<p>Later, Collison did not rule out restoring support for Bitcoin in the future.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the company exited Meta&#8217;s Diem project.
