BlockFi, the crypto-lending platform, reported these results.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We\u2019re back with our survey series BlockFi: Real Talk.<\/p>\n<p>This time we surveyed ~1,300 Americans about their interest in giving, receiving, and discussing crypto during the holidays\u2014or as we like to call it, HODLdays.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what we learned ? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Xl1GkZj3p3\">pic.twitter.com\/Xl1GkZj3p3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 BlockFi (@BlockFi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BlockFi\/status\/1468256374291415044?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 7, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The survey included 1,262 US residents aged 18\u201365.<\/p>\n<p>Among respondents aged under 25 (<a href=\"http:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%9F%D0%BE%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5%20%D0%92\">Generation Z<\/a>), the share showing interest in digital assets was twice the overall sample.<\/p>\n<p>Respondents favoured Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Ethereum. Only 2% expressed interest in receiving <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-nfts\">NFT<\/a>, but 15% plan to acquire such tokens in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>A third of respondents thought that discussing cryptocurrencies at the holiday table was more appropriate than politics.<\/p>\n<p>Among men, the share favoring digital assets over gift cards was three times higher than among women.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers also found that fewer than a quarter of respondents had a full understanding of how to gift cryptocurrencies technically.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by Grayscale Investments, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/grayscale-26-of-american-investors-already-own-bitcoin\">26% of US investors have already invested in bitcoin<\/a>, with more than half having become holders in the past year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Pew Research Center survey data, since 2015 the share of American adults familiar with the first cryptocurrency has risen from 48% to 86%.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribe to ForkLog news on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/forklog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Facebook<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly one in ten Americans are willing to give cryptocurrency as a gift this Christmas, and one in four are prepared to buy them in 2022.
