The project will offer the platform&#8217;s core features in a decentralised environment.<\/p>\n<p>The team registered a subsidiary, which, from the first quarter of 2022, will begin developing a blockchain analogue of Kickstarter. The parent company will provide financing, form an initial board of directors, and become one of the first clients.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, the project site is expected to migrate to the protocol with no noticeable changes for users.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the decentralised version, an independent laboratory will be created to develop tools for the project&#8217;s growth and to ensure independence from the leadership of the new company.<\/p>\n<p>It will be led by Camilla Cannon, a co-founder and CEO of Purpose Foundation, which develops and scales alternative models of ownership and governance.<\/p>\n<p>A white paper and the project&#8217;s roadmap will be released in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The choice of Celo for Kickstarter was explained as minimising its environmental impact and focusing on global accessibility.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the funding round for Celo was led by <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/a16z-backs-celo-networks-valora-crypto-wallet-in-20-million-series-a\">a16z<\/a>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/deutsche-telekom-invests-in-the-celo-blockchain-project\">Deutsche Telekom<\/a> having previously invested in the project.<\/p>\n<p>Celo<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/aave-curve-and-sushi-join-global-defi-adoption-initiative\"> became the backbone<\/a> of the initiatives by Aave, Curve and Sushi and other projects for the global deployment of <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-decentralised-finance-defi\">DeFi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the UK-based venture firm Outlier Ventures <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/british-firm-pitches-capital-raising-method-for-nft-projects\">proposed<\/a> a fundraising mechanism using <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-nfts\">NFT<\/a>, similar to the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-an-ico-and-can-you-profit-from-it\">ICO<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribe to ForkLog news on <a href=\"https:\/\/vk.com\/forklogcom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">VK<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kickstarter announced plans to develop an open-source crowdfunding protocol on the Celo blockchain.
