In conversation with <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/87893\/new-dao-buys-ross-ulbricht-ethereum-nft-help-free-him?&#038;utm_medium=referral&#038;utm_campaign=feed&#038;utm_source=editorial?utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_campaign=auto\">Decrypt<\/a>, a PleasrDAO representative said that the latter is a member of the organisation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe had some issues with multisignature, so one of our members placed the bid on behalf of the organization,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2015 Ulbricht was found guilty of running the darknet marketplace and other crimes. He was sentenced to two life terms plus 40 years. A group called Free Ross Ulbricht, organized by his mother, friends and supporters, advocates for his release.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of November, the founder of Silk Road announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/silk-road-founder-ross-ulbricht-to-release-nft-collection\">will put up for auction his NFT collection<\/a>. It includes 11 drawings by Ulbricht, created at various periods of his life, as well as an animated video\u2014a collaboration with NFT artist known by the nickname L\u039eViT\u2206TE.<\/p>\n<p>The PleasrDAO team <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ross-ulbrichts-supporters-launch-constitutiondao-style-project\">decided to participate in the auction<\/a> and provide the collective opportunity for all interested through the created DAO.<\/p>\n<p>After the auction, the entire Ross Ulbricht Genesis Collection was merged into a single NFT, which the winner obtained. The Kanon KSPEC protocol was used for this.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/freerossdao.com\/\">FreeRossDAO site<\/a>, rights to the NFT will be distributed among all DAO participants in proportion to their financial stake. These rights will be represented by ROSS tokens (ERC-20 standard), which also serve as governance tokens.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a group of enthusiasts <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/crypto-investors-in-the-united-states-launch-a-dao-to-buy-a-rare-first-edition-constitution\">launched the ConstitutionDAO project<\/a> to purchase at Sotheby\u2019s a rare first-edition copy of the U.S. Constitution.
