The criticism was triggered by the lack of clarity on digital assets.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The latest regulatory agenda shows that the SEC will be busy in the upcoming months, but it won&#8217;t be working on the right things: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QPQGKN91gL\">https:\/\/t.co\/QPQGKN91gL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hester Peirce (@HesterPeirce) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HesterPeirce\/status\/1470475491580825601?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 13, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Peirce and Roisman noted that the document did not include provisions aimed at helping companies raise capital and strengthening consumer protection.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cInstead, the agenda is full of plans to rewrite recently completed rules, add new regulatory obligations \u2026 The program also does not advance our mission to protect investors, as it fails to provide clarity on the regulation of digital assets,\u201d the commissioners said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>They pointed to the SEC&#8217;s reluctance to take on \u201cthe hard task of crafting rules that enable investors and regulated entities to interact with digital assets.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSuch silence invites fraud and hinders legitimate participants who want to comply with the law,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, Gensler <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/gary-gensler-urges-u-s-congress-to-clarify-regulation-of-bitcoin-exchanges\">to bring clarity to the regulatory framework for the crypto industry<\/a>.
