The Clover Finance project won the auction for the fifth Polkadot parachain slot. Supporters locked 9.75 million DOT, worth about $266 million.<\/p>\n

Clover Finance’s nearest competitor was the Efinity project. Its supporters locked 8.8 million DOT worth $240 million.<\/p>\n

Clover Finance is a cross\u2011chain platform with NFT support and an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).<\/p>\n

A network snapshot to determine the fifth winner was taken on December 12. At the time of the snapshot, 6,726,275 DOT had been locked in Clover Finance’s favor. Efinity stood at 6,721,428 DOT.<\/p>\n

Support for Clover Finance came from 5,465 DOT holders. The project’s success marked the end of the first round of parachain auctions. On December 18, the five winners will be integrated into the Polkadot mainnet, and block production will begin.<\/p>\n

The second round starts on December 23. The screenshot below shows the future participants.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Polkadot parachain slots were won by Acala<\/a>, Moonbeam<\/a>, Astar<\/a> and Parallel Finance<\/a>.<\/p>\n
