What is being done here relates to things I <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/walmart-plans-to-enter-the-metaverse\">involved<\/a> in elsewhere,\u201d Horton told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-01-24\/crypto-startup-blockchain-com-adds-top-walmart-director-to-board\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Blockchain.com CEO Peter Smith explained that the company is strengthening the board ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-eyes-ipo-in-2023\">planned IPO<\/a>, which could occur in the near or medium term.<\/p>\n<p>Horton sits on General Electric&#8217;s board. Previously he was chairman of American Airlines and a senior adviser at private equity firm Warburg Pincus, whose president is former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.<\/p>\n<p>In January, former head of consumer online banking at Morgan Stanley, Marcy Wu, also joined Blockchain.com&#8217;s board.<\/p>\n<p>Among the company&#8217;s investors are Google Ventures, Lightspeed Ventures and billionaire Richard Branson. Blockchain.com has raised $537 million in total, and, following the previous funding round, its <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-raises-300-million-at-a-5-2-billion-valuation\">valuation stood at $5.2 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to Smith, over the last 12 months the company reached 37 million consumer users, and institutional trading and lending volumes exceeded $10 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021 Blockchain.com <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-acquires-ai-solutions-provider-for-otc-trading\">acquired<\/a> four companies, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-relocates-us-headquarters-to-miami\">moved its headquarters<\/a> to Miami and began <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-buys-latin-american-crypto-company\">expansion into Latin America<\/a>, with staff rising from 200 to 550, he added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis is a multinational and growing company.
