{"id":56771,"date":"2022-01-28T14:30:17","date_gmt":"2022-01-28T12:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=56771"},"modified":"2025-09-04T08:10:21","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T05:10:21","slug":"sec-approves-bstxs-launch-as-a-regulated-blockchain-based-stock-trading-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/sec-approves-bstxs-launch-as-a-regulated-blockchain-based-stock-trading-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC approves BSTX\u2019s launch as a regulated blockchain-based stock trading platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved BSTX to operate as the country\u2019s first regulated blockchain-based stock trading platform, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p>BSTX is led by BOX Digital, the operator of the Boston Options Exchange, and tZERO, Overstock&#8217;s affiliated security-token trading platform.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to a <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-blockchain-2\">private blockchain<\/a>, BSTX will enable accelerated settlement in settlement modes of <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/ask\/answers\/what-do-t1-t2-and-t3-mean\/\\\">T0<\/a> or <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/ask\/answers\/what-do-t1-t2-and-t3-mean\/\\\">T+1<\/a> (instant or next-day). Market data will also be fed into the distributed ledger.<\/p>\n<p>The platform will be opened to both retail and institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p>The application was filed in April 2020. Initially, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2020\/03\/06\/2020-04470\/self-regulatory-organizations-box-exchange-llc-notice-of-filing-of-amendment-no-2-to-proposed-rule\\\">\u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u043f\u043e\u043b\u0430\u0433\u0430\u043b\u043e\u0441\u044c<\/a>, that BSTX would become a platform for conducting STOs based on Ethereum.
