{"id":58075,"date":"2022-02-18T14:32:09","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T12:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=58075"},"modified":"2025-09-04T14:53:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T11:53:32","slug":"brazil-launches-worlds-first-defi-token-focused-etfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/brazil-launches-worlds-first-defi-token-focused-etfs\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil launches world&#8217;s first DeFi token-focused ETFs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Asset managers Hashdex and QR Capital announced the listing on the B3 stock exchange (S\u00e3o Paulo) <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a>, tracking the performance of the CF DeFi Composite Index and the Galaxy DeFi Index, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashdex.com.br\/indices\/cf-defi\">DEFI11<\/a> by Hashdex <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/hashdex-launches-worlds-first-decentralized-finance-defi-etf-301463429.html\">formed<\/a> three sub-portfolios, reflecting the full value chain underpinning DeFi:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DeFi protocols: Uniswap (23.29%), Aave (9.15%), Compound (3.29%), MakerDAO (7.71%), yEarn.Finance (2.21%), Curve (11.63%), Synthetix (2.78%) and Amp (9.94%);<\/li>\n<li>service protocols \u2014 oracle networks and scaling solutions: Chainlink (5.72%), The Graph (3.38%) and Polygon (5.90%); <\/li>\n<li>base blockchain: Ethereum (15%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Custodians of Hashdex&#8217;s products are Fidelity Digital Assets, Coinbase Custody and BitGo. Assets under management by the company surpassed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infomoney.com.br\/mercados\/etf-de-criptomoedas-defi11-da-hashdex-estreia-hoje-apos-captar-r-555-milhoes\/\">surpassed $1 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Into the QDFI11 basket from QR Capital <a href=\"https:\/\/qrasset.com.br\/qdfi11\/#composicao\">included<\/a> Uniswap (40%), Aave (14.612%), MakerDAO (12.381%), Curve (9.658%), yEarn.Finance (6.459%), Compound (5.953%), SushiSwap (4.006%), Synthetix (3.655%) and 0x (3.275%).<\/p>\n<p>Unlike DEFI11, which was listed on February 17, trading of QDFI11 began on December 8, 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"pt\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udd34 BREAKING: QDFI11 leads the pack, is listed on the stock exchange and becomes the world&#8217;s first DeFi ETF.<\/p>\n<p>Launched by QR Asset Management, the asset-management arm of the QR Capital group, QDFI11 uses the Bloomberg Galaxy DeFi Index as its benchmark.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 QR Capital (@qrcapital) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/qrcapital\/status\/1491034365903925248?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 8, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>As of writing, investors had poured 38.75 million Brazilian reais (~$7.55 million) into QDFI11. Across all of the firm&#8217;s funds, AUM totals more than $145 million. <\/p>\n<p>In December 2021, B3 <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brazils-largest-stock-exchange-to-launch-cryptocurrency-products\">announced<\/a> the launch of cryptocurrency products<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brazils-largest-stock-exchange-to-launch-cryptocurrency-products\"> <\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil became the second in the world <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brazil-becomes-the-second-country-in-the-world-to-approve-a-bitcoin-etf\">to approve a Bitcoin ETF<\/a>. Subsequently, the local regulator allowed trading <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/brazil-becomes-first-in-latin-america-to-approve-an-ethereum-etf\">Ethereum-ETF<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Hashdex <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hashdex-in-partnership-with-nasdaq-launches-cryptocurrency-etf-on-bermuda\">gained a listing<\/a> for an exchange-traded fund on the Bermuda Stock Exchange, based on the Nasdaq index NCI.
