This is <a href=\\\"https:\/\/rkn.gov.ru\/news\/rsoc\/news74108.htm\\\">is reported<\/a> on the agency&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the decision was made in response to restrictions affecting several Russian media accounts. The Prosecutor General&#8217;s Office, in agreement with the Foreign Ministry, deemed the social network complicit in &#8220;the violation of fundamental rights and freedoms of people and citizens of Russia&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;In accordance with the decision of the General Prosecutor&#8217;s Office regarding the social network Facebook, starting from 25 February 2022, Roskomnadzor, in accordance with the law, is taking measures of partial restriction of access&#8221;, \u2014 the statement reads.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The regulator did not specify what exact measures were being referred to.<\/p>\n<div class=\\\"wp-block-text-wrappers-update-2 article_update\\\"><time class=\\\"gtb_text-wrappers_update_time\\\">25 February 2022 | 23:45<\/time><span class=\\\"gtb_text-wrappers_update_head\\\">Update: <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roskomnadzor complemented the notice about the temporary restriction of access to Facebook. According to the notice, the measures imply traffic throttling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In September 2021 it emerged that Roskomnadzor allegedly appealed to Google with a demand to lift restrictions on Russia Today\u2019s YouTube channels, threatening <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/media-roskomnadzor-threatens-to-block-youtube\">block the service<\/a> in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, on March 10, Roskomnadzor began <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/roskomnadzor-began-throttling-twitter-in-russia-and-threatened-to-block-it\">slowing Twitter down in Russia<\/a> because the social network refused to remove content that the agency deemed unlawful.
