It was led by Arweave Team, Blockchain Capital, and Sino Global Capital, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-02-25\/ukraine-invasion-videos-amass-on-crypto-data-storage-network\\\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The corporate-focused ArDrive solution runs on the Arweave protocol. The latter is positioned as an eternal \u201ccollective hard drive\u201d with a one-time payment for storing data at one cent per megabyte.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Millions of files from around the world are stored on Arweave, including texts, articles, photographs and videos. Preserving history \u201cwith a guarantee of 200 years,\u201d the service prevents subsequent alteration.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to Arweave founder Sam Williams, the technology \u201cis similar to blockchain,\u201d but uses a blockweave structure that is better suited for storing large files. Network users earn AR tokens.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Arweave team <a href=\\\"https:\/\/arweave.medium.com\/arweave-announces-new-funding-from-andreessen-horowitz-usv-and-coinbase-ventures-30a1fde3d8c5\\\">\u043f\u0440\u0438\u0432\u043b\u0435\u043a\u043b\u0430 $8,3 \u043c\u043b\u043d<\/a> from Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures and Union Square Ventures<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The app gained popularity in the summer of 2021 among Hong Kong activists. Enthusiasts managed to preserve 5,600 fragments of Apple Daily\u2019s local news coverage.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impotence of China\u2019s authorities to destroy the media\u201d was praised by U.S. Senator Pat Toomey.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\">\n<p lang=\\\"en\\\" dir=\\\"ltr\\\">Sen.
