The news was reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/03\/22\/nfl-lets-teams-blockchain-sponsorships-crypto-ban.html\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021 the organization <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nfl-bars-teams-from-advertising-cryptocurrencies-and-selling-nfts\">banned clubs<\/a> from entering advertising contracts and promoting any goods and services related to blockchain technology and digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>In a memo obtained by the publication, the NFL said that it had decided to allow \u201cadvertising relationships without excessive risk from the regulator or the brand\u201d after completing an assessment of the technology.<\/p>\n<p>The updated rules exclude stadium advertising and maintain restrictions for certain assets, including fan tokens.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cClubs are still forbidden from directly promoting cryptocurrencies,\u201d the document states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The NFL&#8217;s head of consumer products Joe Rudzhero clarified that the duration of teams&#8217; partnerships with blockchain companies should not exceed three years. In his words, this will \u201cprovide long-term flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The league also granted clubs limited NFT capabilities. Teams were allowed to accept advertising, but without using club logos. However the NFL forbade them from \u201cparticipating in licensing or sponsorship agreements\u201d for NFTs and sector companies.<\/p>\n<p>In February, during the NFL&#8217;s championship game, crypto companies Coinbase, FTX and Crypto.com <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-ftx-crypto-com-crypto-firms-post-record-super-bowl-advertising\">displayed a record amount of advertising<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Football League (NFL) has allowed teams to seek sponsors in the blockchain industry, but kept restrictions on cryptocurrencies.
